window-barsIt’s unlikely the bad guys will be inviting the job seekers to attend interviews in the near future; unfortunately, it’s  another example of the need to safeguard personal information like you would your house keys. After all, you wouldn’t want just anyone sitting on your sofa when you arrived home would you?

An experiment carried out recently involved researchers placing a fake job advert in a newspaper. It really was obvious this was a fake site, however, within a few days, the website has received 107 CVs, complete with names, addresses, employment history and everything else that a fraudster might need in order to create a false identity, or steal one.

The lesson from this? proceed with caution.
